Episode 121: Dr. Tom Morcom

Dr Tom Morcom is Associate Lecturer in Old Norse Language and Literature at University College London. His research specialism has been primarily in saga literature, with a particular focus on narratological engagements with the structure and style of Norse texts. His most recent articles 'Dreams, Slander, Gossip, and Rumour. Sturla Þórðarson and Challenges to Narratorial Authority in Íslendinga saga' and 'Hobbled Shieldmaidens and Shapeshifting Kings. The Transfiguration of the Storyworld in Bósa saga ok Herrauðs' both explore the surprising flexibility of the narrative discourse of the saga form. He is currently in the final stages of preparing a critical edition and translation entitled Icelandic Pariahs in Norway: Three þættir from Hulda-Hrokkinskinna for publication.
