Dr. Constantine Karathanasis

Born and raised in Thessaloniki, Greece, Constantine’s interest in Greco-Roman antiquity can be traced back to his Elementary School years, where he remembered his curiosity burning the brightest during school trips to archaeological sites and museums. Enhanced by a love for literature and history, his enduring fascination with the Classical world has prompted an exciting, worldwide academic journey from Greece all the way to Texas. His work focuses broadly on the socio-political history of ancient Athens. Currently, he is preparing a monograph that explores the influence of Athenian public finance on democratic civic behavior during the Classical period. Research aside, Latin elegy and satire are his guilty pleasures.
