
Dr. Christian Rollinger

Christian Rollinger is Senior Lecturer in Ancient History at the University of Trier, Germany. His research interests include late antique (ca. AD 400-640) imperial ideology and aulic ceremonial, the social and cultural history of the late Roman republic, Roman economic history, late Roman political and history, the history of seafaring in antiquity, hellenistic monarchies, and Classical Reception Studies, especially with regard to video games. His publications include studies of Roman elite society notions of friendship, including monographs undertaking social network analysis of the Roman republican elite and studying the context of elite finances and debts, as well as an edited volume on classical antiquity and video games. He is co-editor of the online journal Thersites: Journal for Transcultural Presences & Diachronic Identities from Antiquity To Date.
